Who Should Attend?

The Green Stream, Foundations of Play Therapy program will be of interest to those individuals who are currently working with children in a number of capacities such as teachers, youth and child care counselors, social service workers, early childhood educators, health care providers, therapists or other professionals who wish to enhance their skills when working with children. Those enrolled in postsecondary institutions or graduate programs may use this program as a way to build on their current professional designations. This course prepares participants who wish to continue on to the Red Stream, Advanced Theory and Techniques in Play Therapy. These two programs (Green Stream and Red Stream) provide all of the required core content (i.e., history, theory, techniques/methods, and applications to special populations) for Certification or Registration as a Play Therapist

 

Entrance Requirements: Attending or completed post-secondary education. Please complete the attached application form and return to Sophia@saffroncentre.com a deposit is required with all applications. NOTE: this course is limited by size and therefore your application will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

 

Fees: paid to Saffron Centre Ltd. In person by debit, cheque, or credit card; over the phone by credit card.

Cost (paid to Saffron Centre Ltd): $2100 + GST = $2205

As detailed below, there is a separate $100 fee for marking of the online/ written components.

 

Online & Written Components:

On Line Component (7 hours equivalent): An Introduction to Play Therapy: There is a mastery test to complete at the end of the on-line section to demonstrate understanding or core concepts. Participants will also answer specific questions based on the assigned text books: Play Therapy Dimensions Model (Yasenik & Gardner) & The art of the relationship (Gary Landreth).

 

Students will have three months to complete the required written assignment.

 

When you provide your deposit, Saffron will forward your email address to RMPTI who will  take your $100.00 fee and send you a code to begin the on-line part of the program (the $100 fee will be paid directly to RMPTI), Saffron will contact you regarding textbooks. This fee is separate from the $2100 + GST cost of the program and is related to having to do marking after this part is complete.

 

Location of Training: Sherwood Park, AB; specific venue TBA (dependent on registration numbers)

 

RMPTI Cancellation Policy:

A full refund less 10% is available 45 days prior to a course, conference or workshop. No refunds are available less than 45 days before a course, conference or workshop for any reason. RMPTI reserves the right to cancel course, conference or workshop at  any time due to unforeseen circumstances. In such an event, an attempt will be made to notify registrants via e-mail as well as by posting a cancellation notice on the RMPTI (and Saffron Centre) websites at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled start date. The full registration fee will be returned. In all instances, RMPTI’s and Saffron’s  liability is limited to a refund of registration fee only.
