As we are unable to accommodate large gymnasium or assembly-style presentations, we ask that audiences are restricted to a maximum of roughly 50 students, or 2 classes combined. This can be flexible and depending on the size of the school, some are able to have an entire (or even multiple) grades receive the presentation at the same time.
For parent and professional audiences, there is no maximum number of participants, so long as it is within the safety regulations of the building.

Presenters will need access to a screen with working audio and Wi-fi access. Typically, they will bring a USB memory stick with the PowerPoints loaded and plug it into one of the booking organization’s computers. However, upon request, presenters can bring their own laptop and HDMI cord. They will still need access to a screen and/or projector.

This is dependent on the policies of each individual school. Saffron does not provide a consent form to be shared with parents but can provide write-ups with information on the topics covered and tips for guardians to engage in discussions around them with their youths.
The following presentations cover outcomes from the Human Sexuality Curriculum, which parents have the right to opt their children out of: “Preventing Technology-Facilitated Sexual Violence”, “Healthy Relationships 101”, “Navigating Difficult Relationships”, “Sexual Harassment: Practical Skills and Strategies for Intervention”, and “Understanding Sexual Assault”.

During the busiest school months (September – May), we can travel up to 100 km from our office in Sherwood Park. If you are located outside of this range, we can offer a virtual presentation. During the summer (June – August), we may be able to travel up to 200 km, although this is dependent on demand and availability.

We can accommodate for periods of less than an hour so long as they are no shorter than 45 minutes (excluding time for attendance and announcements). However, this means that the content may be covered quickly, there may be less time for student engagement, and/or the presentation is cut short. For this reason, we recommend following an alternate schedule or rearranging periods so that there is at least a full hour for the presentation.

Yes, Saffron offers virtual presentations! We ask that the booking organization set up the virtual meeting link on a platform such as Zoom, Google Meets, or Microsoft Teams and share the invite with our educator(s) prior to the presentation start time. If you wish to offer a hybrid presentation with both in-person and virtual options, please be aware that it is the booking organization’s responsibility to figure out, set up, and run the technology required to facilitate the event. Our educators will come to your venue and present to both a live and virtual audience, but they are not responsible for the technical component of such an event.

To cancel a presentation or training, simply phone Saffron at 780-449-0900 or email publiced@saffroncentre.com. As per your signed contract, a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is requested to cancel a presentation or training. There is a late cancellation fee of $50; however, this may be waived for inclement weather or exceptional circumstances.

To secure your booking, Saffron will send a contract complete with a quote for the presentation/training and mileage. A signed copy returned to Saffron is required to finish the booking process. Invoices are sent out after the training. For organizations with multiple bookings, invoices are sent out after the first presentation is delivered. Payment is due within 30 days of receiving the invoice. Organizations can pay with a variety of methods, including cheque, credit card, e-transfer, or EFT.
